Community Impact
Manchester's LGBTQIA+ community is vibrant, diverse, and resilient, but it still faces significant challenges in accessing essential services, support, and resources. Hadrian's Lover aims to bridge these gaps and create a transformative space that empowers, connects, and uplifts LGBTQIA+ individuals across our city. By aligning with Manchester's strategic priorities and collaborating with key partners, we have the potential to generate lasting social and economic impact for our community.
Alignment with Manchester's Strategic Priorities
Hadrian's Lover is closely aligned with Manchester's strategic priorities for inclusivity, equity, and social progress. Our proposed community hub will contribute to the following key areas:
A Thriving and Sustainable City
We will provide a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to access essential services, support networks, and resources, contributing to the overall well-being and resilience of Manchester's communities.
A Progressive and Equitable City
We will actively challenge systemic discrimination and promote equality by providing education, advocacy, and support services that address the unique needs and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Healthy, Cared for People
We will contribute to the health and well-being of Manchester's residents by providing mental health support and wellness programs tailored to the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Connections and Communities
We will serve as a hub for connection and community building, facilitating social interactions, networking opportunities, and collective action among LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies.
Potential Partnerships and Collaborations
Hadrian's Lover will actively seek partnerships and collaborations with local LGBTQIA+ organisations, charities, and community groups to amplify our impact and support network. Some potential partners include:

Manchester Pride
Pride is a leading LGBTQ+ charity that campaigns for LGBTQ+ equality, celebrates LGBTQ+ life, and creates opportunities that engage LGBTQ+ people so that they can thrive. Hadrian's Lover could work with Manchester Pride to host events, workshops, and initiatives that promote visibility, inclusivity, and empowerment for the LGBTQIA+ community.

AKT
Akt is a voluntary organisation based in England, created in 1989 to serve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment. Hadrian's Lover could work with akt to provide support, resources, and referrals for LGBTQIA+ youth facing housing insecurity or family rejection.

and More...
By working together with these established organisations, we can leverage our collective resources, expertise, and networks to create a more robust and effective support system for Manchester's LGBTQIA+ community.

Projected Social and Economic Impact
Hadrian's Lover has the potential to generate significant social and economic benefits for Manchester and its LGBTQIA+ community. Some of the key impacts we anticipate include:
01
Increased access to essential services and support for LGBTQIA+ individuals, leading to improved mental health, well-being, and quality of life.
03
New employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for LGBTQIA+ individuals, through our co-working spaces, skills development programs, and partnerships with local businesses.
02
Greater visibility and acceptance of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Manchester, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society.
04
Increased economic activity and revenue for Manchester, through increased visitor traffic, event attendance, and local business support.
By tracking and measuring these impacts over time, we will demonstrate the value and effectiveness of our community hub model, attracting further investment and support for our work.
